Michael Buckland
Michael Buckland studied at Harrow School of Art in the 60’s and moved to Devon in 2001 where he has been inspired by the fascinating rolling hills, cliffs, shorelines and field patterns of the area he lives in.
He brings a contemporary, lively feel to his work which is based on direct observation, working from his drawings of interesting activities, capturing movement wherever he can . He is a keen observer and this is evident with his use of colour, light, shape and pattern. His images are interpretations of specific places, events and encounters.
Michael gives talks and demonstrations and has appeared on television and was featured in the book ‘Painting with Watercolour Challenge’.
